REAGAN RANCH CONVENTION FOR STUDENTS
Future Republican Embracing Education (FREE) Initial Public Offering (IPO)
Future Republicans Embracing Education (FREE) was established by East Valley Republican Women Federated (EVRWF) in 2012. High School students completing their junior year are selected to attend a conservative conference sponsored by the Young America’s Foundation. Held in Santa Barbara in conjunction with the Ronald Reagan Ranch, the Foundation is committed to ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideals of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise and traditional values. Students have the opportunity to meet and hear from conservative leaders and mingle with other students from throughout the United States. When possible, transportation is arranged and or funds for gas can be offered.
Initial Public Offering (IPO) became the next step in 2013. Upon returning from the Reagan Ranch conference, students write about their experience and knowledge gained. Following a brief interview process, one or two worthy students are selected and sponsored by EVRWF. Throughout their High School Senior year, funds are raised toward their college education.
At various events during their Senior year, the student(s) will be available to speak to audiences about their goals and ambition; and, similar to the stock exchange, ”shares” in their future success will be offered @ $10 per share as an investment in their future.
At the June meeting of EVRWF, a check is presented to each student for the monies raised during the year. Our ROI (Return on Investment) is knowing that we have fostered the conservative ideals and the free market system, something not often taught in our schools.
This program has proven successful and more than $11,000 has been awarded to students since inception. Your participation is appreciated and each and every student has gained immeasurably from these programs.
